About meAfter quite a few years of teaching, I'm now a full-time writer and publisher. I'm proud of my post-Katrina novel, [After the Floods], which received a nice review in the New Orleans Times-Picayune. I live in Duluth, MN now, where the winters are cold, the summers are chilly, and everyone eats lefsa. I invite people to checkout the Lost Hills Books website for my blog and other info. on books and events. It is www.losthillsbooks.com
About my libraryMy library is all over the place. Fiction is my first love, but my wife makes me keep up with the world in general--science, politics, the whole pinata. I once wrote a book about Joseph Conrad (I needed to get tenure), and in my mind he's still one of the great writers in English.

Sorry for the delay in the response. I do belong to a book group, in fact
I overwhelmed myself and joined three book groups. They are all very small
groups though and I'm not sure our little group would warrent your time. I
do thank you for your generous offer :>)
We have no local bookstores near us any longer. The closest independant
store would be Harry W. Schwartz's Bookstore. They have three locations is
the Milwaukee area. The Schwartz's on the East side of Milwaukee on Downer
Ave. is usually doing something exciting (author's and workshops) If you
want to investigate it may be worth your while.
I enjoyed your book. The review I gave it was, in my estimation, spot on.
I've passed it on to another member of my group. We will eventually
discuss it.
Again, thank you for the kind offer....I wish I knew more people who would
be interested in a workshop or a discussion. Don't know if you are
familiar with book groups but my experiance has been that the group starts
out large and dwindles down to a few "committed" members. I started one of
the groups, we had eighteen members. Ten years later we have six.
Keep writing.....wish you the best in your literary future :>)

Just received my copy of "After The Floods" I will start reading the book this evening. I did notice that you signed the book. Thank you so much....very thoughtful of you ! I wonder if anyone else noticed ?? I tried looking around a bit, but I didn't see any conversation regarding this.
A signed copy of a novel means a great deal to me....I've worked in several small independant book stores. I've attended the Book Expo at least three times and I will often visit a nearby bookstore when they are hosting an author event.
My books are my treasure and none so valuable as those which have been signed :>)) Thank you !
Off to start reading !
