About meMy name is Kathleen Gilligan and I'm a 23 year old college student majoring in English. (Don't get the wrong idea about my username... It's really my initials and a sport I love.)

If I'm passing on a book, I have no problem shipping worldwide :)

About my libraryI'm always adding books to my library. My room is more books than anything else! I didn't realize how many I actually had until I loaded them all on here. Every book listed in my LibraryThing library is one I physically own.

My favorite part of my collection is my classic section, and I currently have about 180 books with that tag. I'm a fan of historical fiction, specifically about Alexander the Great so my library includes a bunch of those books. I also enjoy reading about the supernatural, ex vampires/werewolves. Finally although my collection is mainly fiction, I also have some nonfiction which mostly includes my school books, but also several biographies.

I completely empathize with you...school texts have always been too expensive! I've just started out with my amazon affiliates and I'm so excited to get this thing working! So, if you're still offering to use a link, please feel free to use my blog: http://contrariwiseblog.blogspot.com/.

Good luck with this semester!
Great! I'll let you know..I think it takes a few days to show up in my reports.
I totally agree, it's not right that they get such huge prices for textbooks! What a racket!
What a nice offer! Each book review on my blog has a link to Amazon at the end, you can click on any of them to get there. Once you click thru using the link I'll get credit for any purchases.

Ok, my blog is http://jennsbookshelf.blogspot.com/

Near the bottom, in the left colum, there is an amazon search box. I think if you purchase directly from there I will get credits for your purchases.
I use amazon affiliates. Let me know if I'm one of the lucky three and I'll pass my info on to you.
You're right he was 2004. It's nice to know that there are young readers in Haddon Heights! I see you majored in English, did you go to school around here? JD is at Johnson & Wales in Providence majoring in Business and said to say hi! BTW -- did you read ...Guernsey... yet? It's on my list but I keep getting pre-release books around here (I'm an editor) and am backed up on my pleasure reading. Let me know how you like it.
Sorry it took so ling to answer -- yes JD is my oldest son. We're you in school together?
I got the book today, thank you so much! I'm off to read it and I'll send it back to you soon as I'm done. =)
I'm impressed with your blog and all you do. I have a 21 year old son who is majoring in English, so I know it doesn't leave you with much free time to read during the school year. I've added your blog to my blogroll.
I'm so glad you got it! I wanted to make a card (my red-headed stepchild hobby), but I ran out of time. A Post It was the best I could do. :)
Drat--"other" should be "author" in my post below. I don't need spell check, I need brain check!
Loved your blog entry on Aberrations and your author interview. I didn't enter the contest, but if my other offer doesn't come through, I'll use the link on the blog to purchase a copy. If it's an accurate portrayal of life with narcolepsy, I'll buy 30 copies. *grin* From what the other said about narcolepsy, I have high hopes that she'll have it right...although narcolepsy has so many different faces.
Songs for the Missing arrived today. Yay!!! :') I started another book in the meantime, but this one will be next in line!
Hey, I'm not sure if I responded anywhere yet or not, but I did get a copy of The New Yorkers, right before I left. I imagine that I will get to it at some point...
Not here yet...still on the lookout! Kind of hoping it comes today -- I just finished a book last night & am ready to start another! I'll let you know when it arrives.
No problem! Not like I don't have enough to read to keep me busy in the meantime! Ha!
I decided I needed to spend my time yesterday actually reading books, instead of obsessively reading about books, which is what I do whenever I'm online. But I'm back from my self-imposed 24-hour LibraryThing curfew to let you know your books are in the mail! I feel a little bit like I'm sending forth children into the world to fend for themselves:) The lady at the post office muttered something about the box getting to you in 5 business days, but I wouldn't bet money on it, lol. (Maybe you have better luck with the postal service than I do. They consistently deliver my - daily - newspaper 2 or 3 days late.)

Enjoy the books!

~Mona
Excellent. I do have paypal, and although I'm usually obsessive about keeping books, I have to keep reminding myself that my point right now is to reduce my book collection to the point where it's actually transportable. Which means book swapping is a bad idea.
Send me your address and I'll drop by the post office tomorrow.

I'm so happy my books will be going to a loving home:)

~Mona
Thanks, Keg, but I just rec'd "Songs..." Smiles, Mary
THANKS

I have a couple of ARCs in my TBR stack plus a couple on the way. I'll let you know when they become available.

Beth
Hi Kathleen, I will give his audio book a try:) My e-mail is bookroomreviews@hotmail.com. Thanks Tracy
Hi

I'd love to read "Victor Kugler" too when it's returned. I have a few ARCS if you'd like to do a trade.

Beth
Sweet. P.S. Victor Kugler arrived today.
So cool you got to see J.K. Rowling! I am interested in that book, do you still have my address you could send them?
i just did it!! I ordered mine!! Thanks so much for recommending it~!!

I will be adding all my books (QUICKLY) very soon!
you are right...it is going to take a long time. huh. I don't have that many yet though...it might work.

YOu are so sweet to offer though, so sweet!
OH, BTW my Grandparents from NJ, southern jersey. My moms side of the family is all there....in Vineland. It is pretty, but too hot!!!!
You live all the way in NJ! That is a super nice, (ultra-sweet) offer...but I think either I should just get all my books and fill out the info, or buy the scanner. So you like it huh?! (;
Two things:
1. Where did you go on your vacation? How was it?
2. I am a friend who would like a copy!
Thanks, Keg,but I already sent "No One You Know" (arc) to someone and I have ordered "Songs..." from Bookins trade group. Thanks for the offer. Another time, another book, perhaps. Mary
Hey, I haven't heard from you, but you won!

I have a copy of the book to give you, but if you don't mind terribly, I'll wait 'til Victor Kugler gets here (should be any time, I'd think), read it, and send them both back together.
Stopped by to check out your blog - it looks like a fun place to browse for a while.
Hi

I mailed the ARC today, hope you enjoy it

Beth
Please send me your address in a private message and I'll mail your book probably Monday.

Beth
Hey, I changed my username from jlcardwell.
Not a problem at all. It isn't as if I've run out of other books to read in the meantime!
I've taken that great leap and requested the change. So long is it is available, I'll be LiterateHousewife as soon as Lindsey gets around to it. :)
I'm glad we've found each other! I created this account without thinking about the Literate Housewife connection. I didn't know if people would know who I am. I've tried to change my name here, but it's not letting me right now and I haven't gotten around to contacting the powers that be...
Hey, I'm asking "Literate Housewife" too, but I'd like your opinion on the following:
I want to have a contest for my 100th post. I've blogged 80 posts so far (2.5 months). Should I announce the contest now/very soon, and announce the winner with my 100th post (which is not necessarily a fixed amount of time, but would probably be 3 weeks or so), or should I announce the contest with the 100th post and then give everyone 2 weeks. This is all a bit harder b/c in 1 month I'll be gone for 9 days for work, then only about 2 weeks after that until my wedding...
Kathleen,

If nobody else has requested "Victor Kugler" yet, I'd love to read it, and would definitely be willing to return it.
Thanks for the Friend invite and for adding me to your interesting libraries. No, I haven't read Frost. I'll add it to my ever-growing TBR list!
Nicole's official site is http://www.geocities.com/nmluiken/
There's even a "excerpt" posted from #3, although it's been up there awhile and it needs editing. I love both Violet Eyes and Silver Eyes, I can't choose between them!
Hello! I keep seeing your name in forum threads and I noticed we have several favorite authors in common. In fact, you and I are the only ones who have favorited Nicole Luiken. I was wondering which of her books do you like the best? I hear she's working on a sequel to violet eyes/silver eyes...
I actually have not been to the Book Trader either, just found it when looking for nearby book stores to add. I also haven't checked out the book festival yet, but it's great to hear it should be good.
Thanks for your nice comments about Scribbler of Dreams, Kegsoccer. I am so glad you enjoyed it!
