The first one of many I'm sure of Francine Rivers to enter into my library. Such a good book with so many topics that girls face but don't always want to discuss. This book delves into the life of a girl who is not perfect, and shows her how much in life she really does deserve all because she is a child of God. It's a good read for those who are slightly or entirely depressed and need some encouragement. Because he loves and died for even the least of these. ( )

An amazing view of the unconditional love the Lord has for us. Rivers' writing style will pull in even the most reluctant of readers, and don't be surprised if you find yourself staying up late on many nights to finish. ( )

This christian fiction book was absolutely the best book that I have EVER read. The book is based on the story of Hosea and Gomer in the bible. It is the best romance novel and is written with such detail that you could paint vivid pictures of the characters and settings in your mind as you read. A wonderful read! ( )

This book contains so much sadness, pain, and depression, it was hard to force myself to read it. Extremely well written, but horrifically unhappy. It may have a happy ending, but so much of it is unhappy it doesn't feel like "a romance novel". I found this novel much more upsetting than Misery, by Stephen King which I read at the same time.

Sarah's mother was a mistress who's protector threw her out because she first didn't abort Sarah and then wanted him to accept Sarah. He hadn't wanted another child. The mother became a prostitute. When she died, Sarah is 8, her boyfriend sold Sarah to a pedophile, the Duke. At 18, she is working in Pair-a-Dice as Angel. Michael Hosea, 26, sees her and knows she is the wife God means him to have. He calls her Mara, bitterness. She tries to drive him away. After she is beaten almost to death, she says "Why not?" when he asks her again to marry him. ( )
