The main character, Megan, is willful, mysterious, lonely, and sad. It's only near the end that the reader begins to understand her pathos. Thoroughly enjoyed this graphic novel. ( )Strangely compelling set of tales woven around the life of one girl. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but soon found myself drawn up on these little pieces of people's lives. Collection of 12 comic books that were released, intersecting stories of a twenty-something year old girl, Megan, and her travels around North America trying to "find herself." Beautifully drawn, the characters and developed to the cities they are in, and each story is a wonderful stand alone, as well as a part of the greater story arc. This graphic novel, written by Brian Wood and illustrated by Ryan Kelly, follows a young girl named Megan through her life and through North America as she grows up and searches for a place to call home. This volume collects the 12 issues of "Local," which chronicles Megan's journey, tells the story of her trying to find herself. While not every story directly revolves around her, Megan is the central character that ties together the thread, from feuding brothers to a band breakup to her return home after many years. I thoroughly enjoyed the stories and the artwork. no reviews | add a review
